1UpFam — Terms of Service

Effective September 10, 2026.

1UpFam is operated by Michael Wallace.

Using 1UpFam

1UpFam lets members of a private family group share their current location, message one another, organize households, save places and receive family notifications. A family group supports up to 40 members.

Use your own account and keep access to it secure. Share invitations only with people you intend to include in your family. Location sharing must be knowing and consensual; do not use the app for covert tracking, harassment, impersonation or unauthorized access to someone else's information. Where a parent or guardian acts for a child, follow the consent responsibilities described in our privacy policy. You can pause or turn off your own location sharing in the app.

Share only messages and photos you are entitled to share. Everyone chat reaches your family group; Household chat reaches your current household. Family members can see information shared with them, so choose your group and content carefully.

Location and privacy

The map shows each phone's last reported position and its age. Permissions, network coverage, battery settings and device behavior can delay or interrupt updates and notifications. A location, distance or arrival alert is not a guarantee that someone is at a particular place or is safe. Contact emergency services directly when needed.

Current location updates replace the previous point; the app does not retain a route trail. Separate saved-place arrival/departure records and other retained data are explained in the Privacy Policy, along with collection, access, retention and deletion choices. RevenueCat helps verify purchases; Apple or Google handles the store transaction.

Family subscriptions

One 1UpFam Plus monthly subscription supports one family group, including its members on supported Android and iOS devices. Members of that covered group do not each need to buy a plan. Family access already granted as permanent complimentary access does not require a subscription. When the app's payment requirement is off, use of the app does not require a purchase.

The US price is US$7.99 per month. Eligible customers may receive a 14-day free trial. The localized price, applicable taxes, eligibility and offer shown by your store before confirmation are the terms of your purchase. If you are not eligible for a trial, the store shows the charge that applies before you confirm.

A subscription renews automatically each month unless canceled. An eligible free trial automatically becomes a paid monthly subscription at the displayed price unless canceled before the store's deadline. Payment is charged to the Apple or Google account used for the purchase. Review the confirmation screen before subscribing; joining a family or using complimentary access does not itself authorize a charge.

Manage, cancel and restore

Use Profile → Settings → Manage store subscriptions, or open Apple subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions for the account that purchased the plan. Cancel there to stop future renewals. For an Apple free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Follow the deadline and cancellation information displayed by your store.

Canceling a paid subscription normally preserves access through the end of the current paid period. Trial cancellation, refunds or store revocation can affect the access end date; the store's status and applicable consumer rights govern. Refund requests can be made through the store that billed you. These terms do not remove any mandatory consumer rights.

Use Restore Purchases in the app with the purchasing store account and your 1UpFam account to reconnect an existing purchase. Contact support if a restore or family entitlement is incorrect instead of buying a second plan.

Family ownership and account deletion

Transferring Family Owner responsibilities does not transfer or cancel Apple or Google billing. The original purchaser continues to manage the store subscription. Leaving a family also does not cancel a subscription.

Deleting your 1UpFam account or uninstalling the app does not cancel store billing. Cancel through the purchasing store account if you want to stop renewals. Account deletion can remove the payer's family access and, when the account owns the family, dissolve the group and remove shared data. Transfer family ownership first if the group should continue, and read the in-app deletion confirmations. See the account-deletion instructions for the available steps and data handling.
